Please note:

Babies in cloth diapers tend to potty train at an earlier age than babies in super absorbent disposables, but each baby will vary from the next.
Babies in cloth need to be changed more frequently than babies in gel (polymer) filled disposable diapers
Cloth diapers should last through two babies, as long as properly laundered (no bleach etc that will wear faster) and a minimum of three dozen diapers are used in rotation. Diaper covers will generally only last one child. The cost for a second child is less as you will be able to re-use your cloth diapers, pail, liners etc.
